Educational Goals

  1. The cultivation of outstanding teachers and research talents in international Chinese language teaching

Core Abilities

  1. Chinese language culture mastery, knowledge, and teaching skills 
  2. Ability to read theoretical texts in Chinese and English, and to apply various teaching theories in a classroom setting 
  3. Bilingual communication skills: an English level equal to the intermediate level in the General English Proficiency Test (GEPT) is required to graduate from this program
  4. Understanding and respect for cultural differences, including observations and critical analysis of global viewpoints
  5. To pass the Examination for Proficiency in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language from the Ministry of Education, and to independently demonstrate the ability to teach Chinese at various levels
  6. Proficient in academic research methodologies and successful completion of an independent research study
