Core Abilities
- Chinese language culture mastery, knowledge, and teaching skills
- Ability to read theoretical texts in Chinese and English, and to apply various teaching theories in a classroom setting
- Bilingual communication skills: an English level equal to the intermediate level in the General English Proficiency Test (GEPT) is required to graduate from this program
- Understanding and respect for cultural differences, including observations and critical analysis of global viewpoints
- To pass the Examination for Proficiency in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language from the Ministry of Education, and to independently demonstrate the ability to teach Chinese at various levels
- Proficient in academic research methodologies and successful completion of an independent research study
