National Chi Nan University will host the 23rd Annual Conference and International Symposium on Teaching Chinese as a Second Language in Taiwan from December 13th to 15th, 2024. This prestigious event is co-organized by the Chinese Language Teachers Association of Taiwan and the Master Program in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language at National Chi Nan University, with the theme of "Innovation and Sustainable Development in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language." The conference aims to respond to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the global enthusiasm for applying AI tools in education, and the international demand for Chinese language learning.
This year's conference focuses on "AI, Overseas Chinese Education, Interdisciplinary Connections, and Global Linkages," exploring how to integrate elements of innovation and sustainable development into Chinese language education. Nearly 300 people have already registered to participate, with the registration deadline set for November 30th. Individuals interested in Chinese language teaching, international interdisciplinary cooperation, AI trends, and sustainable development are encouraged to register enthusiastically.
The conference is honored to invite several prominent scholars and experts to deliver four keynote speeches, including Professor Tao Hongyin from the University of California, Los Angeles, Professor Wen Xiaohong from the University of Houston, Professor Park Jeong Gu from Seoul National University, Professor Deng Shouxin from Chung Yuan Christian University, and Professor Tai Hao Yi from National Chung Cheng University. They will share their latest research findings and insights, broadening participants' perspectives on the future directions and trends of Chinese language education in the context of global sustainable development.
Additionally, scholars and experts from domestic and international Chinese language teaching institutions will present 109 papers covering a wide range of topics, innovative teaching methods, and diverse experiences, offering participants a wealth of knowledge and inspiration.
